CVA 2002 Payload Event
The object of this event is to make an R/C flight in which the airplane carries the maximum amount of weight for one (or more) laps around the field and makes a successful landing.  The airplane had to be powered with a plain bearing 40-class engine. Landing gear was required and the plane had to Rise Off Ground (ROG).  Open Class Planes could be of any construction and could have any number and type of wing(s). Stock Class Planes had to be a readily available kit or ARF. Stock Class Planes also had to maintain the stock outline and the airfoil could not be changed. The only allowed modification was the use of flaps or flaperons which did not increase the wing area of the plane. Each team was permitted 3 official flights on the contest day. Plaques were be presented for first, second and third place in each class.  This event was open to all members of Tidewater and Richmond area R/C Clubs although only CVA members competed.
